Abstract project series
This is a recent series of paintings. The ideas about it developed gradually, through personal experiences with people and projects and reflections on these experiences. If you work in a project, there are always things that are complicated. Communications, discussions about the financial part, time pressure, etc. What I try to capture in these project series is the idea of a project as a timeline. It starts on the leftside of the painting and ends on the rightside. Some projects start with hardly anyone having a clue, and some start with a very clear idea of the goals and path to follow in mind. The painting shown here is a slightly different kind of project. It's called the seduction, and it's about someone trying to seduce someone else. The color is very skinlike, and the movement is very friendly and persuasive. The person that inspired me to make this painting died shortly after I made this painting in a tragic motoraccident. I hope I have sufficiently honored his memory with this painting.
